In order to transport gas from the gas fields to the end user it needs to be compressed every 200 kilometers in the pipeline network. At Kleinknecht, we equip gas compressor stations with complete electrical engineering solutions—the field instrumentation is as important as media control systems.
Another application for Kleinknecht electrical control systems is for gas storage, particularly for subsurface storage. These stores compensate for seasonal fluctuations in demand for gas by being filled during the summer months and emptied during the winter months. These fluctuations in volume are being compensated by an air cushion, controlled by a complex electrical system, designed and installed by Kleinknecht.
