Our robotic Auto Toe Set system (ATS) consists of two robots with torque gun end-effectors used in conjunction with BEPCO’s non-contact alignment (NCA) machine to automatically adjust vehicle toe to desired settings.
Speak with an ExpertOur ATS system is highly configurable, allowing greater flexibility when dealing with changes in vehicle design and production processes. For example, if the position of the tie rod changes the robots can simply be re-taught or a new vehicle type can be quickly added—if the properties of the tie rod change (and there is a change in toe value) as the jam nut is tightened this can also be accounted for, keeping final toe values as close to the desired value as possible.
Our NCA machines dynamically measure the angle and position of the wheels—using this information, the robots loosen the jam nuts, adjust the tie rod, and finally tighten the jam nuts to a specified torque.
The combination of robots that automate the toe set procedure and extensive cycle data collection allows for reduced and consistent cycle times.
